About Us
Our President:
Shipley Builders Inc. was founded in 1988 by Mr. Lyman C. Shipley Jr., a lifelong resident of the Roanoke Valley/Lake Gaston area. Mr. Shipley is a graduate of the NC State University and holds a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering.
Mr. Shipley entered into his career as a bricklayer and framer for Roanoke Construction Co. and returned to this company as a foreman after completing his degree. From here he moved on to the position of Project Manager for Crowder Construction where he managed many locally significant jobs including the Cary, NC Water Intake at Jordan Lake, and the Littleton, NC Wastewater Treatment Plant. In 1988 he realized his goal of starting a custom homebuilding company.
Mr. Shipley has devoted a lifelong career to gaining experience in various aspects of the construction industry. It is this broad base of knowledge combined with a strong network of local subcontractors which affords Mr. Shipley and the staff of Shipley Builders Inc. the ability to meet your homebuilding expectations.
